The University of Canterbury announced that it has set up a scholarship to be awarded to an outstanding student director participating in this year’s Canterbury Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme.
Professor Nigel Healey, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the College of Business and Economics at the University of Canterbury made the announcement at E Day, Tuesday 11 March, the launching day for YES 2008. The scholarship contributes$4300 towards first year fees of a Bachelor of Commerce degree at the University of Canterbury. Professor Nigel Healy commented that the talent and high standard of the students emerging from this programme over the last three years the College had been involved was extremely impressive and was a contributing factor to the University providing the scholarship.
“Canterbury is a vibrant, entrepreneurial region and we believe it is important to foster this enterprising spirit in our secondary schools. The College is pleased to be working once again with CDC to support this scheme,” Professor Healey said.
