The industries of ‘colour’ and ‘expression’ were represented at the recent ECN ‘creative industries’ networking function held at Canterbury Development Corporation. Six guests from visual communication, journalism, fashion design and music gave an insight into the local industry and as well as a personal snapshot into their background.
Speakers provided a perspective on industry trends and future needs of what industry is looking for. The evening was particularly linked into the curriculum areas of English, the arts and design and technology.
Over 35 teachers attended the event and the evening proved popular to catch up with other teachers involved in ECN and explore opportunities and get to make business contacts.
